Kituo Cha Sheria on 14th February, 2018, was represented at the launch of a Radio Drama Production on Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) that was held at Mtaani Radio, a community radio station based at Kivuli Centre, Riruta Satellite in Dagoretti-Nairobi.
The Radio Drama Production dubbed “This can happen to anyone of us… (Haya yaeza tokea kwa yeyote kati yetu)” produced by the Kenya Community Media Network (KCOMNET) and Mtaani Radio in collaboration with Kituo Cha Sheria and CPS/GIZ, is a story of the IDPs that aims at raising awareness within the IDP communities on their rights and for the public to know that displacements can happen to anyone of us.
The launch event which was part of World Radio Day (WRD) Celebrations 2018 brought together the Kenya Community Media Network (KCOMNET), Civil Peace Service (CPS)/GIZ and representatives from the 40 community radio stations engaged by UMOJA-Radio for Peace Projects discussing on how to use Radio Drama as a tool for peace education and community information. The 40 radio stations will broadcast the radio drama productions; produced in both Kiswahili and English to reach the masses. Kituo Cha Sheria continues to partner with community radio stations in Kenya as a platform to enhance equity and access to justice for all especially in outreach and empowerment of the poor and the marginalized communities.
