ADVOCATE OF THE HIGH COURT OF KENYA

Justus Munyithya is a renowned Human Rights lawyer. He is a former vice chair of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Mombasa branch. He has a Masters degree in law (LLM) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is also a lecturer at the Kenya School of law.

ADVOCATE OF THE HIGH COURT OF KENYA

Grace Okumu joins the Kituo Cha Sheria board of Directors as a member. She is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with G. A. Okumu & Co. Advocates. She brings in expertise in Human rights, family law and Public Interest Litigation and areas Kituo Cha Sheria focuses on. She has also served as a volunteer advocate for Kituo Cha Sheria for several years.

ADVOCATE AND A SENIOR LECTURER UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI

Mr. Okech Owiti is an advocate and a senior lecturer at the university of Nairobi Kisumu Campus. He is a renowned publisher and defender of human rights especially to the poor and marginalized members of our society.

JUDGE OF THE HIGH COURT OF KENYA

Justice Onesmus Makau is a judge of the Employment and Labour Relations Court in Kenya and a former volunteer advocate of Kituo Cha Sheria for many years before his appointment to the bench.

SECRETARY/CEO OF THE COMMISSION ON ADMINISTRATIVE JUSTICE (OFFICE OF THE OMBUDSMAN)

Mercy Wambua OGW is currently the Secretary/CEO of the Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman). She is the former Chief Executive officer (CEO) at the Law Society of Kenya.

HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL

Fatuma Dubow is a seasoned health care professional with over 30 years’ experience in International development, Gender equality and Human rights. Fatuma holds a masters degree (MSc.) in International Health from the University of Heidelberg in Germany and Bsc degree in Gender and Development . Prior to joining the Kituo Cha Sheria, Fatuma worked with the Ministry of Health at Division of Reproductive Health and Family Planning, leading and coordinating with stakeholders in implementing Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights Programs at National and Regional level including Reproductive Health Inter-Agency Committees (RHIC) &TWGs for over 15 years. Fatuma had the opportunity of working with various International NGOs such as Daninda, GIZ, Care International and the United Nations (UNICEF ,UN women and UNFPA) .
Fatuma comes with a wealth of experience in the field of advocacy and promotion of human rights and Gender equality.

ADVOCATE AT ASIEMA AND CO. ADVOCATES

Joy Asiema is a practicing advocate at Asiema and Co. Advocates. She holds a Master’s degree in law from Harvard University and a leading specialist in Conveyancing and Commercial law. She brings to the board over 15 years’ experience gained from meeting the legal advice needs of both local and international organizations to litigation in all Kenyan jurisdictions.
