Forced Migration (FMP) Programme
Shem Alubala has over 4 years experience working as a psychologist, serving the refugee and Kenyan population in Kenya, Nairobi and Kakuma. He has worked as a trauma healer for the centre of victims of torture and IsraAID Kenya. Prior to these he worked at child line Kenya as a counselor supporting children across the country with information on child protection and linking them to relevant services including the government of Kenya and its partners in child protection. Shem is a graduate with master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Psychology from the University of Nairobi. Currently he is employed as a Psychosocial Counselor at Kituo Cha Sheria in the Forced Migration Program(FMP) under the Mental Health and Psycho-social Support program.
Charles Sande Abukusta has a certificate in community development and Social work. He has vast experience in security matters having worked for more than 8 years in government and private security firms before joining Kituo. He has attended a number of in-house training in the field of paralegal studies and psychosocial support in humanitarian aid. He acts as an administrative assistant at the Forced Migration Programme (FMP) office in Pangani from time to time in addition to his duties as a senior security officer. Charles is passionate about helping vulnerable people of concern and keen on gaining knowledge and skills in the field of office administration and paralegalism.
Mary joined Kituo Cha Sheria as a volunteer in 2009 and later confirmed as an office messenger and caretaker at Kituo Cha Sheria’s Jogoo Road Office in 2011. She is currently executing her duties of ensuring cleanliness and staff logistics are upheld at Kituo Cha Sheria’s main office, Nairobi. Juma finds pleasure in her work, respect for all is her motivational drive. She believes in giving to others especially the poor in whatever way she can, no one has ever become poor by giving she supposes. Juma has pursued certificate in Computer Studies and has attended various paralegal trainings with Kituo Cha Sheria.
